William Harper Smither, 80, of Mulberry died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, in Mulberry. He was born July 22, 1924, in Ozark. He was retired from Arkansas Highway Department, an Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 487, and the widower of Emma Smither and Fern Smither.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Mulberry with burial at Hight Cemetery east of Mulberry.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky Smither of Stigler and Ronnie Accord of Mulberry; four sisters, Opal Medlock, Inez Parrish, Armina Agee and Josephine Whitlock, all of Ozark; a brother, Richard Smither of Ozark; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Hunter, John Crockett, Dewayne Scowden, Kenney and Davy Edwards and Barry James.

Mrs. Irma Jean Smither, 51 years old of Mulberry, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 6, 1972 in an Ozark, Arkansas hospital.
Her mother Mrs. Grace Jackson died Monday, September 4, 1972.
Surviors are her husband, Harper, two sons; her father Floy (Buddy) of Mulbery; two brother Fount and Bill; five sisters, Selby, Mrs. Wagner, Mrs. Frazier, Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. James.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sandy Chapel. Burial in Hight Cemetery was by Greer Funeral Home.
