Mrs. Shirley Mae Busby Hoots, age 61, of Caldwell, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Mrs. Hoots was born on Jan., 5, 1939, in Colt and was the daughter of Dewitt Busby and Rosie Mae Britton Busby. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life, was a housewife, and a member of the Caldwell Baptist Church. Mrs. Hoots married Larry Hoots in 1955, and he survives her along with three sons, Ricky hoots, of Palestine, Barry Hoots, Gary Hoots, both of Caldwell; three sisters, Carolyn Dulancy, of Homa, La., Lady Gilmer, Wanda Speer, both of Colt; five brothers, Bud Busby, Pat Busby, both of Palestine, Ted Busby, of Forrest City, Dewitt Busby, Johnny Busby, both of Colt; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hoots will be Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Stevens Funeral Home, with burial following in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
