Kim Renae Gray was born September 12, 1957 in Brinkley. The second child of Raymond and Virginia (Roberts) Volner, she received education through the Brinkley High School. Growing up in a close knit family, she was energetic, spirited and always ready to take charge.
In prior years Kim served in many capacities; as a candy striper, she shoveled asphalt for the Arkansas Highway Department, served food at King's Dairy Bar, and later became office manager for Arkansas Refrigeration. In time she became a certified nursing assistant and worked for home health and at the Crestpark Nursing Center at Stuttgart. Kim and Stephen are well known among the residents of the Roe community, and recently celebrated their seventeenth anniversary. She took seriously her role as mother and always wanted the best for her children.
Best described by a niece, she was "the most giving and kind person, the life of the party, had the best smelling perfume, could slug you like a man, and make you laugh until you cried." During the holiday season she loved to make Christmas candy, especially "Hello Dollies" for her sons.
Kim always looked forward with great anticipation to the annual "sisters" trip to Texas. She enjoyed scrapbooking and taking care of her dogs, especially little Missy. Kim was an active member of the Aberdeen Baptist Church.
In recent days Kim became very ill, and as a result passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 56. May we treasure the memories of the love she so easily gave and the joy she shared with everyone through this life.
Kim is survived by her husband, 3 sons, 2 daughters, her mother, two brothers, four sisters, and nine grandchildren.
Kim was preceded in death by her father Raymond Volner Sr.
Services were 11 AM Tuesday December 17, 2013 at Aberdeen Baptist Church, Aberdeen Arkansas, followed by burial in Roe Cemetery in Roe Arkansas.
