Robert "Bobby" Welch Brewer, 75, of Blytheville, AR., passed from this life Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Great River Medical Center.
Born in Aberdeen, MS., to Claude "Hap" and Ruth Welch Brewer.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and retired owner of Brewer Wholesale for over 35 years. Bobby led an active life. He was appointed to the Blytheville Planning Commission for 3 years, was elected constable for 20 years and served on the Blytheville Airport Commission for 20 years. Bobby was a licensed pilot for 25 years and was a former member of the Mississippi County Fair Board for many years. He was a former member of the Classic Car Club. He traveled all over the United States with the truck pull circuit, where he was number one in the nation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Van, Charles and Billy Wayne and sister, Sarah Daniel.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 54 years, Zetha Fisher Brewer, of the home; daughters, Robin Carek and husband, Randy of Elizabethtown, KY and Lisa Henderson and husband, Jeff of Blytheville; brothers, Richard Brewer, Taylor Brewer, Neal Brewer and Terry Brewer, all of San Diego, CA and Ronnie Brewer and Mike Brewer, both of Orlando, FL and Jimmy Brewer of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Patsy Parker of Raleigh, NC and Joyce Byrd of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Maegan, Ryan, Madelyn Carek and Jordan and Jaden Henderson.
Services were held at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
