Mrs. Merle Johnson, 73, Rt. 2, Springdale, died Dec. 15 in Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 21, 1903, at Spring Valley, she was the daughter of John R. and Maude Holmesley Barnes, a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church and had been an employe of Cain Canning Co. for 25 years.

Survivors include her husband, Theo Johnson of the home; three sons, Dean Johnson, Des Moines, Wash., Jake Johnson and Harold Johnson, Springdale; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Louise) Farmer, Springdale; two brothers, Garland Barnes, Selma, Calif., and Glenn Barnes, Springdale; two sisters, Mrs. Milburn (Madge) Neill, Springdale, and Mrs. Wave (Edith) Butler, Des Moines, Wash.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Sisco Chapel.

Funeral services for Mrs. Merle Johnson, 73, Rt. 2, Springdale, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Sisco Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Garrison and the Rev. Bobby Shepherd officiating. Burial was in Sonora Cemetery under the direction of Sisco.

Pallbearers were David Farmer, John Johnson, Michael Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Ricky Johnson and Ivan Barnes.
