Funeral services for the late J.E. Stocking, who died Tuesday afternoon at his home on South Fourth street, were held yesterday at 2:30 at the First Baptist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. A. DuLaney. Mr. Stocking had lived in Rogers for nearly 25 years and would have been 88 years old had he lived until Christmas day. He came to Rogers from Kansas but was born at Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is survived by his wife. They have no children but he leaves six children by a former marriage. All of the children live in Canada and none were able to be here for the funeral. Death was the result of heart trouble and Mr. Stocking had been seriously ill for only a few days. Mrs. Stocking is a sister of Mrs. Harry Goghill. Mr. and Mrs. Stocking have been residents of Rogers for the past 20 or 25 years. Funeral arrangements are in charge of J.W. Bryant.
