Mrs. Betty E. Baker, 74 of Mountain View, formerly of Conway, died Thursday, November 25, 2010. Betty was born December 25, 1935 in Kirkland, TX to Daisy (Green) Ethridge and the late Bernard C. Ethridge. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Peter L. Baker, son Jody A. Baker, and a brother (Sonny) and sister (Doris). Mrs. Baker was an exemplary homemaker and took great pride in being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cultivating beautiful flowers, a lifelong hobby she shared with her mother; was an artist, having been involved with the Conway League of Artists. She contributed as a volunteer for the Conway Crisis Pregnancy Center; enjoyed attending Bible Study Fellowship and Faith Assembly of God Church. She was a wonderful mentor, advisor and prayer warrior. She was, above all things, a servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mrs. Baker is survived by her mother, Daisy Ethridge (97) of Mayflower, AR; children Ronald “Corky� Baker and wife Chris of Mountain View and Kimberly Simkins of Conway; grandchildren Cody Quattlebaum, Carrie Simkins, Michael Baker, Andy Baker, Justin Baker, Anna Baker, Abby Baker, and Jonathan Baker; and one great granddaughter Mya Danielle. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 29, 2010, with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, with grandsons and a nephew serving as pallbearers. Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to Feed the Children Foundation (feedthechildren.org).
