James E. Manning, 86 of Walnut Ridge passed away November 19, 2020 at the Flo & Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Born September 14, 1934 in Walnut Ridge, son of Clifford and Nellie Lamb Manning. He was united in marriage to Bobbie Jo Lang on September 27, 1952 and was of the Baptist Belief. James was an outdoorsman, a farmer, and a rancher. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time socializing at the coffee shop.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Bobbie; four brothers, Virgil, Everett, Earl, and Ernest; six sisters, Elizabeth, Pearl, Edith, Bernice, Arzella, and Arbell; one grandson, Norman Marlin; and one great grandson; Jakob Manning.
Survivors include three sons, Rick (Pam) Manning of Walnut Ridge, Doug (Denise) Manning of Paragould and Bruce (Kelley) Manning of Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Gail (Joe) Holland of Clover Bend and Anita (Keith) Marlin of Walnut Ridge; eight grandsons; five granddaughters; eleven great grandsons; eighteen great granddaughters; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 3 P.M. in the Lawrence Memorial Park with Bro. Derek Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be Adam Holland, Zachary and Tucker Hurst, Josh, Aaron, James, Daniel, David, John and Matthew Manning. Honorary Pallbearers are Carol Brown, Stephanie Hurst, Melissa McVay, Sarah Hogan and Natalie Wilson.

Bobbie Jo Manning, 77 of Walnut Ridge, passed away, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center.
Born February 29, 1936 in Conway, daughter of Clarence and Cora Smith Lang. She was an employee of Lawrence Manufacturing Company and Skil. A loving wife of local farmer James Manning and a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Bobbie’s family was her life, and she meant everything to her family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, wildlife, flowers, and travel. She had a kind, gentle, and caring spirit with unconditional love and genuine concern for each family member. She was a true reflection of a Godly woman; a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. We know that she is now rejoicing in heaven with the loved ones who have gone before her.
She was united in marriage to James Manning September 27, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Cora Lang, a sister, Mary Barber, a brother, Burl Lang, a grandson, Norman Marlin and a great grandson, Jakob Manning.
Survivors include her husband, James Manning of the home; sons, Rick & Pam Manning of Walnut Ridge, Doug & Denise Manning of Paragould, Bruce & Kelley Manning of Walnut Ridge, daughters, Gail & Joe Holland of Clover Bend, Anita & Keith Marlin of Walnut Ridge; a devoted sister Betty Parsley of Little Rock; eight grandsons, Adam & Jody Holland of Jonesboro, James & Lori Manning of Hot Springs, South Dakota, David & Blair Manning of Jonesboro, Daniel & Laura Manning of Walnut Ridge, John & Lisa Manning of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Matthew Manning of Paragould, Josh Manning of Paragould, and Aaron & Amber Manning of Clover Bend; five granddaughters, Carol & Brad Brown of Jonesboro, Stephanie & Aaron Hurst of Hoxie, Melissa & Darren McVay of Walnut Ridge, Sarah & Alex Hogan Jonesboro and Natalie Manning of Walnut Ridge; ten great granddaughters, Hannah, Rebekah, Claire, Madison, Rachel, Chloe, Kennedy, Josie, Haley and Rylee; six great grandsons, Tucker, Zach, Caleb, Tony, Greyson and Isaiah and many other relatives and friends.
