Carrie Mears, age 75, of Yellville, passed away Monday December 2, 2013 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison, Arkansas. Carrie was born June 24, 1938 in Yellville, Arkansas to the late Onimus and Donnie Lee (Ott) McEntire.
She worked in quality control at Baxter Lab for 20 years, and later worked for 10 years at Marion County Nursing Home. A lifetime resident of the area, she was a member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church in Yellville, as well as a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Carrie is survived by her husband, Harold of the home; her son, Donald Mears and his wife, Teena, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; three daughters: Karen Tablish and her husband, Mike; and Elaine McLean and her husband, Joe, all of Yellville, Arkansas; and Sandy Anderson and her husband, Rick, of Harrison, Arkansas; two sisters: Kat Kastning and Jan Beaver, both of Yellville, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Quince Wood.
Visitation for Mrs. Mears will be Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 10:00 am at Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church near Yellville, with Bro. Jack Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Aaron McLean, Tristen Tablish, Nathan Mears, Trigg Anderson, Rick Anderson, and Mike Tablish. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe McLean, Lester Gibson, Joe Foster, Don Crigler, Dr. Bill Mears, and Dr. Shawn Bogle.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Hills Hospice House, 501 E. Sherman, Harrison, AR 72601; or to Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Fund, c/o Fred Burrow, 4727 Highway 14 S., Yellville, AR 72687.
