Clara Douglass Jameson Wilhite, 81, of Little Rock, passed away and began her eternal life on April 8, 2010 after a couragess battle with cancer. She was born August 15, 1928 in Osceola to John Steven Douglass and Ruth Hampton Douglass.
She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, T. Ladd Jameson.
She is survived by her husband Sammie D. Wilhite; sister, Peggy Jones (Bob) of Searcy; brothers, George Douglass (Sally) of Jonesboro and John Douglass of Osceola; her son, Tommy Jameson (Christy) of Little Rock; daughter, Stephanie Hazelwood (Tom) of Springfield, Virginia; grandchildren, Robert and John Hazelwood of Springfield, Virginia and Kalder and Alycia Clare Jameson of Little Rock.
Clara was raised in Osceola, Arkansas and graduated in 1950 from the Arkansas State Teacher's College in Conway. Before and after raising her children, she taught elementary school in Bald Knob, Little Rock, Malvern and Cabot, but primarily was a homemaker, hostess, mother, grandmomie and spiritual inspiration extraordinaire.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church located at One Covenant Drive, Little Rock. Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 a.m., preceding the memorial service. A 3:00 p.m. graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, contributions honoring Clara's memory may be made to the building fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Little Rock.
Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.
