BENTONVILLE — Ruby Boydstun Matthew of Bentonville passed away peacefully on Feb. 21, 2012, at Ashley Health and Rehab in Rogers. She was born in LaRue, Ark, to the late Henry Elmer and Lottie Belle (Allred) Boydstun.
Ruby graduated from Rogers High School, and later from Draughon's Business College and the Dale Carnegie Institute. She was employed with Callison-Lough Funeral Home for over 28 years, after which she owned and operated Ruby's Package Store, north of Garfield. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Centerton.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard "Junior" Matthew of Garfield; sister, Dot Watkins of Rogers; five nieces; and three nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Following Ruby's wish, she will be cremated and no services are to be held. There will be a gathering to celebrate Ruby's life from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Apple Blossom Senior Community in Rogers. Her cremated remains will rest next to her parents in Bland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Benton County Humane Society, the Benton County Women's Shelter or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the care of her friends at Callison-Lough and Rollins Funeral Homes in Rogers. Online condolences may be made at www.callisonlough.com.
