BELLA VISTA — Hester Kunkel Anderson, 86, of Bella Vista died Sept. 21, 2004, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. She was born March 28, 1918, in Petersburg, Neb., to Harry L. and Edith M. Kunkel Anderson. She grew up in Albion, Neb. She attended Doane College in Crete, Neb., and received a B.S. degree in home economics from Iowa State University in 1941. She married Earl Anderson, on June 7, 1942. She taught school 23 years, of which the last 14 years were at Westside High School in Omaha, Neb. She retired to Bella Vista Village in 1985 and was a member of the Community Church, PEO, Book Club, Andante Club, Women's Chorus and the Arkansas Symphony Guild.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Anderson of Bella Vista; one daughter, Susan Garrison and husband Stephen of Pittsgrove, N.J.; three sons, Steven E. Anderson of Boulder, Colo., Paul L. Anderson and wife Melinda of Apple Valley, Minn., and Bruce W. Anderson and wife Nancy of Omaha; two brothers, Leighton Kunkel of Lincoln, Neb., Bruce Kunkel of Long Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 am. Thursday at Bella Vista Community Church with the Rev. Richard Lindman officiating.
Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, or the Bella Vista Library, 11 Dickens Place, Bella Vista, 72714.
