P. Homer Means, 1015 South Twelfth street, died Saturday morning at his home after a long illness. He was a former resident of Monte Ne, Ark.
The Fentress mortuary will send the body to Rogers, Ark., for funeral service and burial.

ROGERS, Ark. (Special) — Homer Means, widely known resiident of Monte Ne community, died Friday night at Fort Smith following a long illness.
Mr. Means was active in Masonic and Eastern Star circles before his illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maud Means and one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Brainard of Monte Ne; one brother, Jim of Monte Ne and a nephew, Joe Means, sheriff-elect of Benton county.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m., at the Callison-Porter Funeral chapel. Rev. Everette Bland, pastor of the Baptist church at Monte Ne assisted by Rev. Rel Gray, pastor of the First Baptist church in Rogers, will officiate. Burial will be at the Rogers cemetery.

Funeral Service Conducted Monday For Homer Means
Funeral service for Homer Means, 66, widely known Monte Ne resident who died at Fort Smith early Saturday following an extended illness, was held at the Callison-Porter chapel at 2:30 p.m., Monday.
The service was conducted by the Rev. Everett Bland, pastor of the Monte Ne Baptist church, and the Rev. Rel Gray, pastor of the Rogers First Baptist church. Burial was in the Rogers cemetery under the direction of the Callison-Porter Funeral Home.
Graveside Masonic rites were conducted by members of the Rogers Masonic lodge.
Pallbearers were Edgar Barnes, Pete Graham, Corbett Eden, Billy Eden, Ottie Blackburn, and Ernest Wisely.
Mr. Means was born at War Eagle on October 23, 1887, the son of Van and Edna Blackburn Means.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maud Means; a daughter, Mrs. Geneva Brainard, Monte Ne, and brother, Jim Means, Goshen, Ark.
