G.A. (Dolph) Thomas, 65, lifelong resident of Fayetteville, died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday at the Washington County Hospital after a short illness. He was born January 9, 1886, in Fayetteville, the son of Payton and Martha Thomas.
Mr. Thomas, a resident of University Heights, was a stone Mason. He was married May 1, 1903, to Nora Belle Elderton as Fayetteville and was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nora Thomas, six sons, Stuart P. of Fayetteville, Frank M. of Kansas City, Kan., Allan A. of Marlow, Okla., Roy E. of North Redondo Beach, Calif., Kenneth E. of Electra, Texas and George C. of Fayetteville; three daughters, Miss Nellie Mae Thomas of Fayetteville, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Dixon of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Dorothy Strange of Fayetteville; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. H. Wesley of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. J.A. Gray of Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the Central Methodist Church by the Rev. D.L. Dykes, Jr. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
