MINNICK, Marlin A. - Marlin A. Minnick died Saturday morning at his home on North C street after an illness of three months. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and were conducted by Rev. J.D. Bowles, pastor of the Christian church. Burial was in the city cemetery Mr. Minnick was a native of Crawford Co., Ill. and was born September 3, 1853. He was married in that state June 9, 1879 to Miss Caroline L. Fry who survives him. To them were born eleven children, five of whom are living and are all residents of Rogers: Mrs. Lucy Vandover, Mrs. Ada Lyon, Jess Minnick, Anna Minnick and Will Minnick. They came to Rogers from Illinois in 1885 and had since made their home here. By trade Mr. Minnick, or "Spike" as he was known to the entire community, was a stationary engineer and he only gave it up a year or two ago owing to failing health. For years he was engineer for the Rogers Milling Co. and later for H.Y. King's electric light and cold storage plant. He was with the Rogers Light and Water Co. when he had to give up his life work. He was a member of the council from the First ward when he died and had the respect and esteem of the entire community.
