Leon the son of Homer James Clinton and Flora (Sanders) Clinton. Gennell the daughter of Joe Bob Williams and Odessa 'Dessie' Azalee (Hubbard) Williams.


Gennell Clinton

Gennell Clinton, 83, of Strawberry, died Jan. 30, 2012, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Born July 18, 1928, in Strawberry, she was the daughter of Joe Bob and ODessie Hubbard Williams.

She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and a homemaker. She was a member of the Strawberry Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Clinton, in 1989; and a brother, Joe Campbell Williams.

Survivors include two sons, Lanny Clinton and wife Jerrie, Rosebud, and Phillip Clinton and wife Billie, Strawberry; five grandchildren, Cheri Ellis, Amanda Clinton, Steve Clinton, Christi Clinton and Jeremy Clinton; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Strawberry Church of Christ with Kenny Townsley and Don House officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Lynn.

Pallbearers will be Steven Clinton, John Ellis, Jeremy Clinton, Robert Denison, Larry Vance and Tony Nunnally.

Visitation was set for today from 6-8 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Lynn.
