Fern Honeycutt died when a horse threw her as she was going to Calico Rock. Her husband, Floyd Honeycutt had been killed around four months earlier when he was shot by the Calico Rock Marshall, Bill Stoner.

Mrs. Fern Honeycutt, aged 18, suffered fatal injuries Tuesday afternoon when she left her home near Iuka, in company with a younger sister, and had started for Calico Rock.
After mounting a horse at the home of Sam Snellgrove, the animal became unruly and threw her, with the result that she suffer a fracture of the skull and died about 6AM Wednesday.
The funeral was held at Galatia at 1PM Wednesday, burial being in Galatia Cemetery. The Rev. Y. Whitfield of Pineville conducted funeral services.
Deceased is surveved by two small children; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heavener (sic), and numerous other relatives. Her husband, Floyd Honeycutt, met death some three months ago when he was shot by City Marshal Bill Stoner, in an encounter on the streets here.
