A graveside service for 85-year-old Peter George Kafka, SR of Royse City, Texas, will be at 10AM today at Fairview Cemetery at Buford. Mr. Kafka, a former Mt. Home resident, died May 5, 2000.
Arrangements re by Rest Haven Funeral Home of Royse City with local arrangements by Roller Funeral Home.

(By happenchance, the location of the graves of Emma & Peter Kafka is unusual. When Peter G. Kafka died there was not any family member that could come to the area at that time. Relatives made arrangements by phone for him to be buried by his wife. The funeral home contacted the Sexton of the Fairview Cemetery, and he showed the grave digger the erected tombstone. The grave was dug where the inscription showed his eternal resting place to be. A few months later, a family member visited the cemetery and asked why Mr. Kafka was not buried by Mrs. Kafka. It turned out that for some reason when Mr. Kafka purchased the tombstone he had it placed at the foot of his wife’s grave. As a result, Mrs. Kafka’s grave is west of the marker and Mr. Kafka’s grave is one space south of her grave, but on the east of the tombstone. As a result, it is an almost certainty that no one will ever be buried in the plot immediately south of Mrs. Kafka’s grave or in the plot immediately north of Mr. Kafka’s grave.)
