Evelyn ‘Libby’ Elizabeth Decker, 90, of Mtn. View entered into rest on November 15, 2010, in Batesville.
Libby was born January 4, 1920, in Sac City, Iowa, to Oscar and Cora Talbot Finders. She grew up in Lakeview, Iowa.
She was a loving wife to Richard Decker for over 68 years, having married on April 9, 1942, in Yuma, Arizona. She lived all over the world, following Richard, who spent 21 years in the Navy. She loved her children and her grandchildren, her handicrafts, and her travels. She and Richard traveled extensively in their motor home, visiting their children, relatives and friends. For many years she wrote the Flatwoods News column in the Stone County Leader. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, of the home; son, Thomas R. Decker and his wife Glenda of White Stone, Virginia; and son Terry A. Decker and his wife Judy of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, John A. Decker and his wife Mimi of Atlanta, Georgia; Stephen R. Decker and his wife Julia of Los Angeles, California; Rebecca S. Meskill and her husband Michael of Independence, Missouri; and Robert E. Decker and his wife Jayme of Belton, Missouri; and Thomas Burgess and his wife Amy of Leesburg, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Frank and Jay Decker, Thomas Burgess; sister, Mary Miller of Yankton, South Dakota; and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Cora Finders; brothers, Raymond, Merlin, George and Forrest, granddaughter Laura.
Visitation is 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2010, at Roller Crouch Chapel, Mtn. View.
Funeral service is 10 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, Mtn. View with Pastor Ron Newberry officiating. Interment will be in the Historic Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are John Decker, Steve Decker, Robert Decker, Mike Meskill, Tim Decker and Curt Decker. Honorary pallbearers are Hinkle Decker, John Scroggins and Benny Decker.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of the arrangements.
