Gertha Corter Hopper, 93, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in Sweeny, Texas. She was born December 24, 1918 to James R. and Lucy Corter in Allison, Arkansas. She was Assembly of God by faith and retired from Presbyterian Village.
Gertha was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, Bryan W. Hopper; son, Eddie Hopper; four brothers, Claudis Corter, Robert Corter, Roy Corter, and James Corter, Jr.; and two sisters, Mae Pittman and Euda Smith. She is survived by daughter, Geraldine (Wayne) Crosson of Sweeny, Texas; sons, Joel (Janice) Hopper of Lonoke and Jerry (Jimmie Rae) Hopper of Holly Grove; sisters, Maxine Tinkle of Mountain View and Edith Best of Springfield, Missouri. Gertha is also survived by seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012, followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home, 405 Peabody, Mountain View, Arkansas, (870) 269-3210.
