Obituary - Linda Laverne Streeter Slaughter, 60, of Monticello died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at UAMS in Little Rock. Born January 17, 1953, in Ukiah, CA, she was the widow of John Allen Slaughter, a seamstress and a member of Second Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Irman Dewitt Streeter and Ella Fair Barnett Streeter.
Survivors include three sons, John Slaughter of Fountain Hill, Allen Slaughter and wife Angel of Hamburg and James Slaughter and wife Terri of Monticello; one brother, Robert Streeter of Snyder; one sister, Juanita Cotton of Bryant; and six grandchildren, Sabrina, Tommy, Simon, Justin, Mark and Grace. She was preceded in death by one brother, Irman Franklin Streeter; one half brother, James Land; and two half sisters, Joyce Jackson and Carrie Basile.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, at the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello with Rev. Bud Banks officiating. Pallbearers were Dean Wallace, Jimmy Don Norrell, Phil Thompson, Richard Addington, Tim Nichols and Orby Shaver. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Rice and David Wesson.
