Mr. Russell Leonard, 88, of Corning, AR., passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, AR.
Mr. Leonard was born in Datto, AR.
He was a retired farmer, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II; he enjoyed fishing, camping, playing dominos and cards, and spending time at the Senior Citizen's Center. He was a member of the Corning Church of Christ.
He married his wife of fifty-eight years Bonnie Lou (Pulliam) Leonard on December 27, 1941, she preceded him in death on May 27, 2000.
He is survived by one son Russell D. "Buddy" Leonard of Corning, AR.; three daughters Judith Lynn Smith of Corning, AR., Donna Marie Oldham of Jonesboro, AR., Charlotte Kae Rahm of San Antonio, TX.; one brother James Leonard of Hot Springs Village, AR.; five sisters Mazie Fowler of Poplar Bluff, MO., Erma Dean Arnold of Corning, AR., Loretta Lawhon of Mathis, TX., Sandra Rice of Simi Valley, CA., Barbara Richardson of Lewes, DE.; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Cal and Iva (Goodman) Leonard, wife Bonnie Lou Leonard; three brothers Marvin, Willard and Jerald Leonard; one sister Daisy Fickert and second wife Bonnie Foster.
Funeral services were held in the Corning Church of Christ. Burial was at Richwood's Cemetery, Corning.
