Anna Merle Walker - McNabb Funeral Home
November 25, 1925 - November 12, 2018

Anna Merle Walker, 92, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2018 at home in Vilonia, Arkansas. She was born on November 25, 1925 in Imboden, AR to Burrel and Sue Cude.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Clarence Walker; sisters, Hope Johnson and Faith Hooper; son Billy Walker and grandson Jeffrey Walker.

Anna leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother, Burrel Cude of Imboden; two children, John Walker of Littleton, Colorado and Bonnie Hedrick of Vilonia; her special son-in-law, Ron Hedrick; her grandchildren Christie Walker (Steve) of Aurora, Colorado, Angela Mann (David) of Chesterfield, Virginia, and Sean Hedrick of Vilonia; 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She spent her career serving the nutritional needs of thousands of school children, eventually becoming the Child Nutrition Director for Pocahontas Public Schools. She was a member of the Prince Street Church of Christ in Conway, AR.

Anna loved to read - especially mystery novels and was a world traveler who visited Australia, Europe and took many road trips across the US. She was a strong, independent and faithful Christian woman. She rarely missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and would get annoyed when they were interrupted for any reason. She had an adventurous (and extremely stubborn) spirit that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Anna also had an incredible sense of humor and worked hard not to take herself too seriously. When her family looked at her bucket list, they found it empty because she had done everything in life that she wanted.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm on Friday, November 16 at McNabb Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 17 at 10 am with Derrel Starling officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.
