DANVILLE - Junior Harrison Rhoades, 78, of Bluffton died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at his home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1929, at Young Gravelly to George Harrison and Emily F Louise Stone Rhoades. He was a retired pipefitter for Alcoa and a farmer, and attended Nola Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Mae Magness Rhoades; a brother, George Herman Rhoades; and a sister, Clarice Kendricks.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Friend Rhoades; sons and daughters-in-law, Harrison and Judy Rhoades of Benton, Wayne and Susan Rhoades of Gravelly, Jim and Loria Rhoades of Havana, and Charles and Dee Rhoades of Benton; a daughter, Linda K. Rhoades of Benton; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nina Bird of Wichita, Kan.; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Beverly Brothers of Dardanelle, Floyd and Jennifer Brothers of Casa, and Leroy Friend of Mena; stepdaughter, Barbara Sue Friend of Mena; four stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Nola Church of Christ with Mack Parks officiating. Burial will be in Young Gravelly Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Active - Steven Strong, Harry Rhoades Jr., Jay Rhoades, Jimmy Rhoades Jr., Kelly Hill and Ron Sullivan.
Honorary - Austin, Billy Wayne and Conner. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today.

Mrs. Lillie Mae Magness Rhoades, age 68, of Bluffton, Yell County, AR died Thursday, October 21, 1999 at her home. She was born July 8, 1931 in Bluffton, AR to the late Opal Magness.
She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Lighthouse Christian Church in Wing, AR.
Survivors are her husband, J. H. "Junior" Rhoades; four sons, Harrison Rhoades and Charles Rhoades both of Benton, AR, Wayne Rhoades of Bluffton, AR and Jim Rhoades of Havana, AR; one daughter, Linda Rhoades of Benton, AR; her mother, Ada Hawkins Magness of Ola, AR; one brother, Bill Magness of Waldo, AR; two sisters, Ruby Shinn of Dumas, AR and Mary Brothers of Benton, AR; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services were October 24, 1999 at the Lighthouse Christian Church with Rev. Dan Osolin and Rev. Royce Savage officiating. Interment was in Young Gravelly Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR. Pallbearers were J. H. "Jr. ", Harrison, Wayne, Jim, Charles and Linda Rhoades.
