Arvil Blackwell,67 of 204 Hooton Street,Pocahontas,passed away in Randolph County Hospital,Tuesday,May 15.
He was born Mar.31,1912 in Warm Springs,a son of the late James Riley and Sarah Ellen Jones Blackwell.
He is surived by his wife,Mrs.Delia Hogan Blackwell of the home;5 sons,Benny and Edward Blackwell of Pocahontas,Lindell Blackwell of Florissant,Mo.,Kenneth Blackwell of Peoria,Ill.,Clifton Blackwell of Mountian View,Calif.;3 daughters,Mrs.Dorothy Lee of Denver,Colo.,Mrs.Georgia Neal of Batesville,and Mrs.Pat Poe of Rockford,Ill.;3 brothers,Herman and Norman Blackwell of Pocahontas,and Lehman Blackwell of Attica;26 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held last Thursday in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Arvil Tribble and J.W. Knobles officiating.
Burial followed in Masonic Cemetery with McNabb's in charge.Pallbearers were Micheal,Levon and Craig Blackwell,Bob Taylor,Jerry Gilmore and Gary Robinson.PSH 24 MAY 1979
