Ruby May Hays of Wilburn died January 9, 2005, at Beverly HealthCare in Heber Springs. Born in White County on November 2, 1908, she was 96. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Mollie Elizabeth (Butler) Allen.
She was a homemaker, and she had been a resident of Cleburne County for most of her life. She was a member of the Wilburn General Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Hays, on January 3, 1976; by her parents; four brothers; one sister; and two grandsons.
She is survived by two daughters: Helen Hurst and Glema Lacy, both of Wilburn; one brother, Telford Allen of Heber Springs; one sister, Susie Spears of North Little Rock; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held January 12, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
Funeral services will be held January 13 at 10 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Tommy Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Magness Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brose Spears, Melvin Skaggs, Travis Williams, Hurshel Hays, Jerry Hays, Pat Lacy, and Eddie Ray Lacy.
