Mr. Arthur Loren Logan, age 93, of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at White County Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas. Born on November 25, 1911, at Ida, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Pious Macon and Minnie Judith (Towell) Logan. A lifetime resident of Cleburne County, Mr. Logan enjoyed farming, attending church, gospel music, and his family. He was a past member of the Heber Springs School Board and had also taught school. A founding member of the Chastain Chapel General Baptist Church, Mr. Logan served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, and he also played the piano. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Ella (Foust) Logan on June 23, 1984. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Tosh Stair Logan of Tumbling Shoals; one son, Merrill Logan and his wife, Shirley, of Tumbling Shoals; three daughters, Avon Moss and her husband, O. B., of Tumbling Shoals, Loretta Logan Anderson of Rogers, and Ella Faye Westerman and her husband, Charles, of Russellville; one stepson, Troy Raymond Stair and his wife, Karen, of Springdale; one brother, Kendall Logan of Heber Springs; two sisters, Lola Russell and Dorothy Haile, both of Heber Springs; nine grandchildren, Regina Martin, Timothy Logan, Marty Moss, Travis Moss, Kay Anderson, Lea Erby, Mark Anderson, Carisa Hegefeld, and Karie Watson; three stepgrandchildren, Brett Stair, Sarah Stair, and Cadi Stair twelve great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Logan, Jonathan Logan, Jeremiah Logan, McKalie Moss, McKade Moss, Tyler Moss, Blakely Luker, Zoey Luker, Logan Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Allison Erby, and Sara Erby; and two step great-grandchildren, Brittany Stair and Julia Stair. Mr. Logan is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chastain Chapel General Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Mote and Rev. Eric Decker officiating.
Interment will follow in Chastain Chapel Cemetery. Travis Moss, Marty Moss, Mark Anderson, Ricky Logan, Darrell Logan, Timothy Logan, Marvin Logan, Gerald Lacy, and Brett Stair will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Nathaniel Logan, Jonathan Logan, Jeremiah Logan, Tyler Moss, McKade Moss, and Aaron Anderson.
Memorials may be made to the Chastain Chapel Building Fund.
