SPRINGDALE — Thomas Roy Barron, 90, of Springdale died March 19, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 18, 1909, in Hindsville to William Rufus and Mary Jane Warren Barron. He moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1960 from El Monte, Calif. He was a farmer, a former truck driver, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed motorcycles and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Faye Barrett Barron of the home, to whom he was married 67 years; two sons, Al Roy "Hoot" Barron of Springdale and Tommy Lee Barron of Lincoln; two daughters, Bonnie Faye Gibbs of Elm Springs and Marzie Watkins of Springdale; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nelson's Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Forrest Park Cemetery at Springdale.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
