Lavern Shurley Price, formerly of Little Rock, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She lived in Springdale with her daughter and son-in-law, Diana Gayle and Walt Page. Born Dec. 22, 1921, she was the daughter of Joe and Ina Harvey Shurley.
Preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joe L. Shurley and wife, Cloie; brother-in-law, Coy Anthony, she is survived by her cherished sister, Myra Shurley Anthony of Beebe; daughter, Diana Gayle Page and her husband, Walt of Springdale; beloved grandson, Scott Page and his wife, Mollie; and three great-granddaughters, MacKenzie Claire, Mary Ellen and Rosalyn Grace of Rogers; nephew, Bob Shurley of Little Rock; two nieces, Donna Myers of Houston, Texas, and Brenda Nixon of Little Rock.
Before moving to Springdale to live with her daughter after a fall five years ago, she had lived over 60 years in Little Rock. She retired from Strauss Distributors after 38 years so she could watch her grandson play basketball. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, her family was of utmost importance. A member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church of Little Rock for over 30 years, she attended University Baptist Church with her daughter and son-in-law. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16 at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Beebe, Ark., with her grandson, Pastor Scott Page officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, Ark. 72012. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark.
