Mrs. Mary E. Reeves died Saturday morning at her home on South Fourth street, where she had lived alone for the past twenty-five years, after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. Dillon. Mrs. Reeves was 81 years old and was born in Fulton county, Penn. Her maiden name was Mary E. Spicer. She was married to O.C. Reeves in 1868 but she had been a widow for many years. So far as we know her only living relative is Conductor J.B. Reeves of Monett, who is an adopted son, and who was called here by her illness and death. She never belonged to any church but attended the Christian church. Her death marks the passing of another of the early settlers of our city.
