Ilene Sneed, age 84, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Quitman on March 2, 1926, she was one of twelve children of the late Oliver Tyler and Ada Rice Tyler.
A longtime resident of Cleburne County, Mrs. Sneed enjoyed the outdoors. She was a retired employee of Kimberly Clark in Conway. Her religious belief was Baptist.
Mrs. Sneed was preceded in death by her husband, Herald A. Sneed, who passed away on December 16, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and three sisters.
Mrs. Sneed is survived by her daughter, Linda Wright and husband, Delane, of Quitman; two sisters, Muriel Ogdon of Sherwood and Fern Corbitt of Conway; two grandsons, Lance Wright and wife, Skye, and Eric Wright and wife, Mandy, and one great grandson, Oran Wright. Mrs. Sneed is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Flat Rock Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joe Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the Flat Rock Cemetery. Keith Corbitt, Stacey Tyler, Randy Tyler, and Leo Langrell will serve as pallbearers.
