Uncle Tommy Terry, an old and respected resident of the vicinity of Elm Springs, died Tuesday and was buried next day at the Elm Springs Cemetery. He was a member of the Masonic order and quite a number of the members went from this place to assist in the funeral exercises. Nearly a thousand people must have congregated to pay their last tribute of respect on earth to one who commanded the respect while living of all who knew him. One by one the early settlers of North Arkansas who cleared away the forests and made for us a country which blossoms as a rose are passing away but the fruits of their industry and the recollections of honest lives still remain as blessings to their children.
