Bentonville -- Ralph Edwin Featherston, 49, died at his home in Bentonville Thursday. He was a lifelong area resident and was manager of the Farmer's Exchange and a member of the New Home Methodist Church.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Virginia Rakes Featherston of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Elzey of Bentonville; one son, Randy of the home; his mother, Mrs. O11ie Featherston of Bentonville; two sisters, Mrs. Max Douglas and Mrs. Ellen Casey both of Bentonville and one brother, Glen of Bentonville.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Callison-McKinney Chapel. Burial in Bentonville Cemetery.

GROVE, Okla. — Virginia Featherston Kropff, 77, of Grove, Okla., died June 22, 1995. She was born April 3, 1918, at Bentonville to George and Margaret Schaum Rakes. She moved to Hickory Grove, Okla, from Bentonville in 1970. She was a 1936 graduate of Bentonville High School and received her teaching certificate from the University of Arkansas in 1969. She was a school teacher in the Bentonville school system for several years and retired from the Grove schools. She was a member of the National Education Association, Delaware County Education Association and New Home and Hickory Grove Extension Clubs. She was a Future Homemakers of America Mother of the Year and a Cub Scout den mother. In 1965, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Edwin Featherston, to whom she was married in 1936.

Survivors include her husband, David L. Kropff of Grove, to whom she was married May 8, 1970; one son, Randy Featherston of Rogers; one daughter, Deanna Thrash of Rogers; one stepson, Jerry Kropff of Bernice, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Linda Gregory of Arlington, Texas, and Betty Wilmoth of Fairland, Okla.; two sisters, Georgine Cawood and Maxine Cawood, both of Bentonville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Fairland with the Rev. Alan McIntyre officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami, Okla.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in the care of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home.
