Betty Grace Charvat (1928 - 2012)
Funeral Services for Betty Grace Charvat, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 6:00 PM, Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Doug Huskey officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 6:00 pm, prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 pm before the service.
Betty Grace Charvat of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away March 6, 2012 at the age of 83. Betty was born September 4, 1928, in Avon, Illinois, to Nealy and Marie Larson Young. She taught at Norfork Elementary School until retiring in 1993. She and her late husband, Harry, also owned and operated Whispering Woods Resort in Jordan, Arkansas until 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband and both parents.
Betty is survived by a son, Chip Charvat and wife, Maureen Burke, of Roseville, CA; a daughter, Jane Charvat and her significant other, Steve Born, of Mountain Home; two grandchildren, Claire and Cullen Charvat, of Roseville, CA; two sisters, Marcia Simonson, of Smithshire, IL and JoAnn Rausch, of Tucson, AZ; two step-daughters, Kathy Klopp, of Santa Rosa, CA, and Ann Charvat of Nashville, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be private at Hand Cemetery, Jordan, AR.
Memorials may be made to the Halls Chapel/Hand Cemetery in care of Lana Colley, 1989 Rodney Road, Jordan, AR 72519, or Mountain Home Christian Clinic, 421 West Wade Street, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
