March 4, 1933 - March 17, 2011
Jane Newman McDonald, 78, departed from this life & went to be with her Lord on March 17, 2011. She was born in Faulkner County, AR., near Greenbrier, on March 4, 1933. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Dan McDonald & wife, Rita, of Greenbrier, & Philip McDonald, of Shreveport. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Kristen Whittmore, of Lamar, AR a brother, Jerry F Newman of Arkadelphia, AR & many cherished nieces & nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, William Dan "WD" McDonald, a son James Kenneth McDonald; her parents, Ganer Lee & Pearl Blair Newman, two brothers, Russell Blair Newman & Ganer Lee Newman II & three sisters, Hazel Newman Johnson, Pauline Newman & Betty Newman Ward.
During her life, Jane previously resided in Conway, AR, Bossier City, LA & Hot Springs, AR, & had lived in Greenbrier for many years until her move to Shreveport last year.
She graduated from Centerville High School in Faulkner County & attended Arkansas State Teachers College, now UCA. She was a gifted homemaker & loving mother, & excelled in the art of Southern cooking. Her home was beautifully decorated with art & antiques collected throughout her life. She also worked as an accountant for several businesses after her children were raised. A stunning beauty, she was known for her big smile & her bright personality. Throughout her life, she was deeply loved by her family & friends.
