Tommy G. Springer, 89, of North Little Rock died Monday, March 14, 2011. He was a member of the Orthodox Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He worked for the Veterans Hospital for 35 years and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha E. Springer; a son, Jerry Springer; his parents, James Earl and Millie Lee Steed Springer; and two sisters, Coga Webb and Dessie Ketchum.
He is survived by a son, J. Earl Springer and wife Becky of Little Rock; two daughters, Doris Ridlon, of Little Rock and Alvina Hawley and husband Arthur of North Little Rock; a brother, the Rev. James Springer of Biloxi, Miss.; nine grandchildren, Tony, Brian, Matthew, Joseph, Justin, Christine, Jason, John and Carol; and three great-grandchildren, Anna, Simeon and Emily. A funeral was held March 18 at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Cato Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Fort Roots VA Hospital in North Little Rock.
