Lorene Rogers, age 81 of Vilonia died Wednesday, March 28, 2007. She was born October 8th, 1925 in Faulkner County to the late William Curtis and Thelma Alice Parker Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 plus years: Earl Rogers, son: Eddie Rogers, two grandsons: Jeff Sturtz and Michael Gentry, and by one brother and one sister. Lorene had worked in Little Rock during WWII at the Tuff-Nut Clothing factory making Army Fatigues for the Army but her real job was raising six children that were the center of her world. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren added more to that later in life. One of her most enjoyable things was to read the newspaper and obituaries so she could pull out her notebook and add to her list of strange and unusual names. America's Funniest Home Videos added another enjoyable moment in her life as well as feeding and watching her birds that visited daily.
Lorene is survived by her children: Larry Rogers and wife Ramona, Virginia Gentry, Wanda Sturtz and husband Ray, Betty Rogers, and Jimmy Rogers and wife Vicki all of Vilonia, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m., March 31st at Roller McNutt Funeral Home (501.327.7727) officiated by Bro. Bob King with burial at Beryl Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Bob Sturtz, Gary Sturtz, Ronnie Daves, Brian Kirk, Brian Mathis and Steven Hicks. Honorary Pallbearers are: Mark Broom and Tom Mathis.
