Flora Vercie Yancey of Oxford, Arkansas, daughter of the late Oscar and Arra Wayland Davis was born January 1, 1915 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She died on February 20, 1994 at the Medical Center in Calico Rock at the age of 79 years.

Mrs. Yancey was united in marriage to Buck Yancey October 14, 1928 at Brockwell, Arkansas and to this union two children were born. They owned and operated an orchard in Washington. She was a member of the Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford.

Mrs. Yancey is survived by her husband Buck of the home; one daughter, Wilma Fortune of Calico Rock; one son Jerrel Yancey of Oxford; three sisters, Clela Garner of Cabot; Verdelma Whiteaker of Calico Rock and Mary Watters of Nowata, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.

Services were February 22, 1994 in the Oxford Baptist Church at Oxford with Brother Duane Flood and Brother Charles Baskin officiating.

Pallbearers were Steve Taylor, Donnie Orf, James Yancey, Luther Yancey, Shelby Gillihan and Roy Teal.
