Fayetteville — Lynette M. Cook, 61, of Fayetteville died Sunday, April 10, 2011, in Fayetteville. She was born Nov. 29, 1949, to the late Chester and Beulah Cook in Fayetteville, Ark., at City Hospital.

Sis. Cook came to Christ at an early age. Lynette graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1968 and later attended the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville). Lynette worked at Baldwin Piano for five years. Then for over 10 years she worked at Kmart. Lynette then moved to Walmart, store 359, where today marks her 20th anniversary.

Lynette loved to bargain shop. She was a social bug and loved to meet new people and knew no strangers. She had a megawatt smile and loved to laugh. She was a member of Red Circle and the choir.

Lynette is survived by her son, Datrin Cook (Fayetteville); her daughters, Myneeka Cook (Austin) and Vanessa Cook (Fayetteville); her granddaughter, Jordan Cook (Fayetteville); her twin sister, Lynell Carr (Fayetteville); her brother, Ronald Cook (Fayetteville); her aunt, Artie Funkhauser (Fayetteville); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be noon Friday, April 15, 2011, at The Dwelling Place, with Pastor Marcus Carruthers officiating. Burial will be in Oak Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Beard's Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday.
