The Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, Arkansas, September 10, 1943:
Mrs. Blankenship Dies Saturday Night
Mrs. Martha Ann Blankenship, about 60 years of age died Saturday night, September 4, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Austin Harris, at Piney Bridge. She had been in failing health the past two years. Mrs. Blankenship was born and reared five miles east of here, where she resided practically all her life.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by a brother, O. L. Bailey of Jumbo and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Reed of Band Mill and Miss Esther Bailey of Forty-Four.
Funeral services were held at Flat Rock Church Monday at 3 p.m., with Rev. J. C. Wilcox in charge. Burial was in Flat Rock Cemetery.
