West Fork Woman Dies on Day Son is Buried

WEST FORK {Special} -- Mrs. Barbara Ann Brown, 92, a lifelong resident of West Fork died this morning, the day her son, Edgar Brown, was buried in Kansas City, Kan.

Mrs. Brown's death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Brown, in West Fork following an extended illness. Born at West Fork Sept. 29, 1871, the daughter of Thornin and Elizabeth Ann Freeman Latham, she was a member of the Christian Church and was united in marrage to Claude Brown, March 18, 1916.

In addition to her daughter and husband, survivors include nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Carter, West Fork and Mrs. Fannie Rope, Denver, Colo.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Nelson's Funeral Home.

Francis Claud Brown, 78, lifelong resident of West Fork, died Wednesday in Springdale. He was born March 4, 1888, the son of John and Purdy Jane Males Brown, and was a retired railroad worker and a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors are one step-daughter, Mrs. Emma Brown of West Fork; three nieces and two nephews.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at West Fork Christian Church with burial in West Fork Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
