Mrs. Whitfield Dies Suddenly at Mtn. View
Mrs. Ada Whitfield, age 49, formerly of Calico Rock, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, at her home at Mountain View. She and other members of the family were preparing to leave Mountain View for a visit with relatives in Pineville, when it was decided to visit a doctor for a casual check-up. The physician advised against making the trip and that she return to her home. She became seriously ill within a short while after reaching home and died within a few minutes.
Mrs. Whitfield was born and reared near Pineville and the greater part of her life was spent in this vicinity. She was a daughter of Mrs. Jas. Richardson and the late Mr. Richardson. In 1918 she was married to Herman Whitfield. They were residents of Calico Rock for several years before moving to Mtn. View seven years ago. She was a devout Christian. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are; her husband, Herman Whitfield; one daughter, Miss Dessie Whitfield of Wichita, Kansas; four sons, James Whitfield of Batesville, Ark., Dale, Billy and Bobby Whitfield of the Home; her mother, Mrs. Jas. Richardson of Calico Rock; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Brumley of Calico Rock, Mrs. Jewel Adams and Mrs. Josie Morgan of Oklahoma City and five brothers, William Richardson of Calico Rock, Otho Richardson of Cross Roads, Curry Richardson of Elizabeth, Obie and Clover Richardson of Utah.
Funeral service to be conducted by Rev. Hubert Morrow of Calico Rock will be at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Pineville, Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Burial will be in Pineville Cemetery, with the Roller Funeral service in charge of arrangements
