RISON — Mary Ellen McKinney Calaway, 87, of Rison died Thursday at Wagnon Place Nursing Home at Warren.
She was born Sept. 9, 1919, at Rison, a daughter of the late C.D. McKinney and Lizzie Cummings McKinney.
She owned and operated Calaway Grocery for 30 years before her retirement.
She was a member of Bethel No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Ann Lisemby of Rison; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Calaway, who died Jan. 18, 2002; two brothers, J.T. McKinney and Clark McKinney; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Cemetery at Rison with Jim Tollison officiating. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home at Rison.
