Randall Mathis, 80, a resident of Appleton, died Thursday, October 6, 2005, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born August 4, 1925, at Appleton to Connie Lee and Mattie Beulah Goodall Mathis.

He retired from the General Motors Michigan plant after 13 years and returned to Arkansas where he later retired from Con Agra Foods after 21 years. He was a trustee of the Appleton Cemetery and the Appleton Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was a member. He was self employed as a small engine repairman at his home in Appleton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, C. L. Mathis; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Lile.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Hazel B. Mathis of Appleton; a son, Randy Mathis of Pottsville; two daughters, Pam Magness and Trish Bice both of Russellville; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Ina Mathis of Houston, Texas; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Mathis of Port Arthur, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn Lile Miller and Sam Miller of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Jill Jackson, Adam Rudder, Jay Jackson, Kevin Cochran, Stacy Titsworth, Briana Mathis, and Haley Mathis; one great granddaughter, Camryn Titsworth; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral was held 2 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2005, at the Appleton Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Richard Falbo. Burial was in Appleton Cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
