George W. Thomas, Sr., 62, of 1605 Lou Ave., died Tuesday. He was born August 6, 1907 in Nevada county, and was a member of Camden Baptist Temple. He was employed by Celotex Corp. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace McElfresh Thomas; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Pickett; two sons, Geo. W. Thomas, Jr., and William Harold Thomas, all of Camden; his mother, Mrs. Edna Thomas; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Souter and Mrs. Fay McAteer of Rosston; two brothers, Robert of Portland, and W. H. Hesterly of Cameo, Calif.; four grandchildren, two aunts, Mrs. Ola Hall of Stephens and Mrs. Lisa Shepherd of Houston, Texas and one uncle, Adam Guthrey Thomas of Nevada City, Calif. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Camden Baptist Temple, with burial in Bethesda Cemetery. The body will be taken to the family home Friday. Cornish Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - March 5, 1970)
