Obituary
Jonathan Calloway Beavers, 77, of Cotter, a veteran of World War I, and a retired Missouri-Pacific Railroad conductor, died Oct 2, at the Calico Rock Medical Center.
The son of Charles Robert Beavers and Mary Evelyn Cunningham Beavers, he was born at Buford on March 20, 1893, and was a lifetime resident of Baxter County.
Survivors include a son, Grady Beavers of Texarkana, TX; five daughters, Mrs. Emma Jearie Brown of Springfield, MO, Mrs. Sue Bailey of Nevada, MO, Mrs. Billie Putnam and Mrs. Peggy Tetro of Phoenix, AZ and Mrs. Shirley Cirrani of Rochester, NY; a brother, Arthur Beavers of Gainesville, MO; and five sisters, Mrs. Nora Mead of Norfork, Mrs. Mary Durbin of Lemoore, CA, Mrs. Callie Merrell of Morristown, IN and Mrs. Allie Smith and Mrs. Velma Dilday of MO; 18 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2PM Oct 4, at the Burnt Schoolhouse near Lone Rock with Rev Bill Richardson of Mt. Home officiating. Interment was in the Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery under the direction of the McClure-Smith Service.
Pallbearers were Everett Wilbur, Odus Duggins, Harlin Ivens, Hershell Akin, Eudell Fletcher, and Claude White.
