GABBERT, Jerusha A. BUSKIRK - The Fayetteville Democrat
After a long and painful sickness Mrs. Jerusha A. Gabbert of Springdale, entered into rest on Monday morning of this week. Her maiden name was Buskirk. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana Feb. 24, 1827. She grew to womanhood in her native State and was married to Michael Gabbert May 28, 1842. It is a striking coincidence that she died on the fifty-second anniversary of her marriage. When 23 years old she was converted and gave her heart to God. She was one of the charter members of the Christian church at Mount Gillead, Ind. She was the mother of nine children, these of whom preceded her to the better world. Three live in other states and three were with her during her last sickness and with the tenderest care responded to her every want. She was the mother of Mrs. Theodore A. Peck and the grand mother of D. Gabbert, both of whom are well known in this city. The funeral occurred on Tuesday evening at five o'clock and was largely attended by the friends of the family both from Springdale and Fayetteville. Mrs. S.E. Meek, a friend of other days, sang a most beautiful and tender solo. [The Springdale News - Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas - June 29, 1894]
