Katherine Addie Wallis of Mt. Home died Friday (May 23, 1997) at Baxter Manor Nursing Home. She was 83.
Mrs. Wallis was born June 4, 1913, in Hopewell, AR to Fred Alfred and Laura Belle Lackey Clark. She was married to Buck Wallis.
Mrs. Wallis was a lifetime resident of Mt. Home, a homemaker and a Prostestant.
She is survived by five daughters, Joyce Gray and her husband, Gene, of DeSota, KS, Zelta Williams and her husband, Willard of Lone Rock, Peggy Jones and her husband, Ray, of Mt. Home, Anna Cantrell of Mt. Home and Johnnie Audeould and her husband Robin, of Mt. Home; two sons J.C. Wallis and his wife, Lavon, of Calico Rock and Larry Tommy Clark and his wife, Norma, of Tulsa; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be noon-8PM Monday at Kirby Funeal Home. The Rev. Tom Stover will officiate at the 10AM service Tuesday at Galatia Church in Norfork. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robin Audeoud, Willard Williams, Phillip Spann, J.D. Cantrell, Cecil Suitterfield and Bill Sutterfield. Honorary pallbeares will be Arvil Kelley and Ray Jones.
Memorials may be made to Baxter Manor Nursing Home.
Kirby & Family and the US Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree as a living memorial and tribute to Mrs. Wallis.
