October 1, 1868 - January 1, 1955
Mrs. Maggie Powell, age 86, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Smith in the Manchester community near Arkadelphia at 9:00 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Powell was born October 1, 1868 at Dardanelle, Ark. She has been living with her daughter for the past 15 months. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by four other daughters, Mrs. Inez Smith of Patmos, Mrs. Allie Brooks of Texarkana, Mrs. Viola Kaser of New Jersey, and Mrs. Fannie Snider of Whittier, Calif.; one son, Caleb Powell of Camden. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. today at the Lakeside Church near Camden by Rev. Jewell Murry. Burial was in the Lakeside cemetery by Proctor funeral home. (Camden News - January 3, 1955)
