Curt the son William Carol and Maggie (Watkins) Huckabee. Mable the daughter of John Johnson and Mary (Allred) Johnson.

Curtis Huckabee

Curtis Huckabee, 71, of Walnut Ridge, died Jan. 31, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 19, 1937, at Nelsonville, he was the son of William Carol and Maggie Watkins Huckabee. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a former assistant manager of Barton Lumber Company, was former owner and operator of the Huckabee Discount Furniture Company and an electrician. He was also a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Oscar Huckabee and W.C. Huckabee; and four sisters, Ona Novak, Pauline Ramer, Virgie Miller and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Huckabee, whom he married Aug. 15, 1959; and two brothers, Edward Huckabee, Flint, Mich., and Lamon Huckabee, Paragould.

Funeral will be this afternoon at 2 in the Bryan Chapel with Don House officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ray Parson, Zack Lawhon, Ronnie Pierce, Luther Allen, Ricky Ditto and Don Mathews. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Willard, Spencer Ponder, Jim Blazer, Donald Bunn, Robie Allen, Coy Slusser, Charles White and Elvis Ditto.

Mable Lucille Huckabee
March 13, 1941 - May 11, 2017

Mable Lucille Huckabee, 76 of Walnut Ridge, passed away suddenly, May 11, 2017, at the St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born March 13, 1941, daughter of the late John and Mary Allred Johnson. She was united in marriage to Curtis Huckabee on August 15, 1959. She worked most her life in retail working locally at Graham’s and the Pace Place. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of fifty years, Curt.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Jane Talton of Jonesboro; three nephews, Terrry (Libby) Parrott of Hoxie, Tim Dunham of Imboden and Jeff (Lisa) Dunham of Holcomb, MO; her favorite companion, her Yorkie pup, Ellie; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10 A.M. in the Bryan Chapel. Pallbearers will be Lester Harguess, Brad French, Larry Johnson, Spencer Ponder, Luther Allen and Raymon Parrott. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M.
